Here are some of the questions we are often asked about our English Tutoring Program. If your question is not answered here, please call us at 416 766 7124.
My child is not struggling in school. She loves English – and I’m concerned she needs more than she’s getting in school, especially now schools are quad-mestered. Can you help?
This is the number one reason families are choosing our English tutoring program! Often, a student is not struggling at all – the parents are concerned their needs are not being full met in school. Sometimes, a student loves to read, is passionate about creative writing, enjoys literature, has ideas they want to express… our program is designed to meet whatever needs are identified by the parents and the student. We can focus on classical literature, or delve into essay structure. We can provide private creative writing sessions, or explore creative non fiction. Perhaps your child need help with editing, or maybe you are unhappy with the fact that English class is not moving at the pace they need. We can help expand your child’s horizons with an enriched literature or language program.
My child is in French immersion and struggles with English for that reason – can you help?
Absolutely. Many of our parents are concerned that their child does not have the necessary grasp of English language conventions because there are in French immersion, or a French school. We can help.
Our son/daughter is falling behind in school – not just in English, but in many subjects. They are starting to lose interest.
Reading and writing skills are essential to do well in most school subjects and so many aspects of life. When students improve these skills, marks often improve across many subjects. We can design a program that is based on your child’s interests, ensuring they enjoy reading and writing while they work with us – that’s the best way to see improvement.
Can we choose between English tutoring at the studio and online?
Yes. In our experience, some families prefer the one-on-one connection that happens when a student meets with us directly at our studio. Other families are concerned about COVID, or live too far away and prefer virtual sessions. We can offer both methods, and if your needs change, we can switch you to virtual classes at any time.
Can our child join your tutoring program at any time?
Yes. Call us to set up a virtual assessment. This is how we learn more about the needs of your child, and ensure they gain maximum benefit from their English tutoring sessions.
