Our Fine Art class this semester will focus on sketching, illustrating, cartoons and comic books! We’ll explore ways to draw original characters, facial expressions, dynamic poses, perspectives, and exciting backgrounds. You’ll learn how to ink and colour your art, using pens, markers and even watercolour. By the end of the semester, you’ll have created your own original comic book. You’ll also have a portfolio of artwork to be proud of and to share with family and friends.
Illustration
As a visual artist, one of the most quintessential skills you are continually honing is illustration. From simple shapes to extreme detailed renderings, an artist can always build this skill through continual practice. Our fine art classes give artist exactly that chance through a series of exercises and skill-based projects building a portfolio of amazing art.
Drawing Characters
If you are an artist interested in cartoons, comic books and even illustration for children’s books, having a portfolio of your own original characters will demonstrate to any potential employer or university your ability as an artist. Centauri Arts Fine Art classes provide the skills needed to create your own original characters.
Facial Expressions & Dynamic Poses
When drawing characters, especially for animations and comic books, artists need to be able to draw intriguing facial expressions and a wide spectrum of poses. The Centauri Arts Fine Art program will provide you with these skills.
Perspectives & Background Design
The success of most cartoons and comic books not only comes from the amazing characters, but also from the intricate and beautiful background designs. The best comic book artists have the ability to display immense depth and detail on a 2d plane through their use of perspective and rendering. In Centauri Arts Fine Art program, you will learn the skills to create your own background designs.
Inking & Colouring
On top of creating amazing characters and beautiful background designs, an illustrator must learn to ink and colour their amazing creations. In our fine art classes, you will learn effective colouring, a variety of shading techniques and most importantly, inking with the proper pen.
