Centauri Arts is NOT your average summer arts program! Here’s what makes us an ideal choice for young people aged 11-17…
Our Instructors are Arts Professionals with years of teaching experience, too.
Older youth need role models. They need to know they are being taught not by students on summer jobs, but by instructors with real-world industry experience. All our faculty combine teaching with active arts careers.
Our times are perfect for older youth!
Young people aged 11-17 can often make their way to our studio themselves; parents aren’t looking for childcare during office hours – they want a worthwhile summer experience for their child that is enriching and fun. Our programs run from 11am-3.30pm or 4pm to 8.30pm. That’s four intensive hours spent on a meaningful experience – leaving plenty of time to sleep in, take a summer job, relax with friends and enjoy the holidays.
Our summer arts programs target specific interests
While younger children might want a mix of activities, youth 11-17 know how they want to spend their time! In our summer arts programs, young people do exactly what they have signed up to do, and nothing else. They make a movie, write a short story, create a screenplay, paint, learn animation, craft jewellery, stage a performance. Teens and pre-teens know what they want – and we give it to them.
Centauri Arts has been teaching the arts for 30 years
With three decades of experience teaching children and teenagers, we’ve learned how to offer them the very best. Many of our arts instructors were campers with us, years ago! We understand what young people look for in arts programs, and how to empower them to succeed. We have an outstanding safety record, and young people who enjoy our summer programs often join us for our year-round courses, too.
We go up to age 17!
Yes, it’s true! Unlike many summer programs, we offer arts enrichment from Grade 5 right up to Grade 12.
Choose from a wide variety of programs
Improve your skills in something you love, or try a new activity for the first time. Choose from Acting, Animation, Film-making, Creative Writing, Screenwriting, Digital Art, Fine Art, Jewellery Making, and more.
With the arts in high schools facing further cutbacks starting this September, there has never been a better time for young people to explore our summer arts programs.
