Fine Art: Cartoons and Comic Books

Monday 5pm-6.30pm, ages 11-17 Semester 1 (14 weeks) starts 22 Sept  2025 Semester 2 (14 weeks) Jan–May 2026 Full Year: Sept 2025-May 2026 Instructor: Morgan Kagesheongai Learn how to use traditional art techniques to create cartoons and comic book illustrations that captivate readers. Explore character design, panel layout and the creative storytelling skills needed for sequential art. We’ll introduce you to different cartoon styles, including Anime, Manga and Chibi: you’ll get to experiment with them all, before developing a style that is uniquely yours. Learn how to create dynamic poses, action sequences and a range of character expressions before starting work on an exciting final project.
