Our retreat in York, UK is ideal even for people who have not traveled before, since the city is one direct train ride from the international airport at Manchester, and can be accessed directly from central London.

2026 Creative Writing Retreats in Costa Rica!
A week on a creative writing retreat can be truly transformative and we are THRILLED to announce that we will be offering TWO very different Creative Writing Retreats in gorgeous Costa Rica, in early 2026! Costa Rica Creative Writing Retreat 2025
What a spectacular creative writing retreat this has been. This year, we had a brand new location for our writing retreat in Costa Rica: a lovely boutique hotel located on the edge of rainforest just outside the town of Quepos. We brought together 10 wonderful writers, two of them with partners who joined our group for sightseeing in the afternoons. This new location was more perfect than we could have imagined. It is difficult to imagine a city more perfect for a creative writing retreat than Merida in Mexico. This was our fourth year running a writing retreat here, and it was spectacular.
